We’re expanding our team for a 6-month Unreal Engine 5 production powered by our in-house story engine. We’re looking for talented collaborators across engineering, art, and production who love building smart, cinematic, interactive worlds.


We move fast, think big, and work collaboratively, work side by side as artists and engineers to invent what comes next. Applicants should be based in Los Angeles and expect a start date in November 2025.

Fermata – [Role Title]

C++ Systems Engineer

Help expand Fermata’s core narrative architecture by building gameplay systems, subsystems, serialization methods and runtime tools that power AI-driven characters in-engine.


Skills: Unreal Engine 5, C++, Subsystems, Gameplay Framework, Serialization, Perforce
Bonus: Experience with multi-player networking, mobile development, or advanced AI agent query techniques like tool calling or text embedding
Contract: 6 months (Full-time or part-time)

Gameplay Engineer

Implement polished, reactive gameplay moments and cinematic effects using Unreal Engine 5. You’ll collaborate closely with our systems, animation, and design teams to make interactions feel dynamic, responsive, and alive.


Skills: Blueprints, Gameplay Systems, Animation Integration, Performance Optimization, UE5 Visual Scripting, Perforce

Bonus: Familiarity with AI behavior trees, procedural animation, UI, or C++

Contract: 6 months (Full-time or part-time)

Mobile Platform Engineer

Own mobile builds and performance optimization for iOS, Android, and potentially XR. You’ll manage packaging pipelines, input mapping, and cross-platform performance profiling.


Skills: Mobile Packaging (with at least 1 shipped iOS title), Shader Optimization, Performance Profiling, Input Mapping, Platform Deployment, Perforce

Bonus: Experience with Meta Quest or Vision Pro

Contract: 4–6 months (Full-time or part-time)

UE5 UI/UX Artist

Design and implement sleek, responsive interfaces, menus, transitions, and scoreboards that feel cinematic and immersive. You’ll collaborate with engineering and animation to bring the UI to life in a cross-platform environment.


Skills: UMG, CommonUI, Photoshop, Illustrator, UX Flow, Motion Design, Animation, Perforce

Bonus: Figma, experience with AI workflows to speed up development cycles

Contract: 4–6 months (Full-time or part-time)

Tech Producer / Production Manager

Coordinate a multidisciplinary team of artists and engineers during a fast-paced 6-month production. You’ll handle scheduling, sprint planning, documentation, and communication, ensuring deadlines are met and the team stays focused. Strong technical fluency in Unreal workflows and our systems and toolchain is important.


Skills: Production Management (Notion / Google Workspace), P4Admin, Documentation, Clear Communication

Bonus: Experience managing small teams in early-stage productions or R&D

Contract: 6 months (Full-time or part-time)
